More Teenage Morons

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-23 - 01:12:27

Has anyone has heard about the six Florida teenagers who lured a 16-year-old girl to a home, where they beat her unconscious, waited for her to regain consciousness, then beat her again for thirty minutes?
They taped it all with the intention of putting it on YouTube.
On the tape it shows the 4 teenage GIRLS, while beating up the girl, demanding to know why she doesn’t like them!!
Err, could this be because they are beating her up?

The girl who was attacked, Victoria Lindsay, lost partial hearing in her left ear and partial sight in her left eye as a result of the attack. Her father said when he first saw her following the attack, he didn’t even recognize her.
The teens arrested and charged in the attack are Cara Murphy, 16; Britney Mayes, 17; Kayla Hassell, 15; Zachary Ashley, 17; Brittini Hardcastle, 17; Mercades Nichols, 17; April Cooper, 14; and Stephen Schumaker, 18. The two boys allegedly stood as lookouts.
The girls showed absolutely no remorse whatsoever when arrested; instead, they were laughing and joking. One was worried about getting out of jail in time for cheerleading practice, and another was worried about a planned trip to the beach. None of them worried about the girl they had attacked, and all of them assumed that nothing would really be done to them.
Imagine their surprise when a judge doubled their bail and ordered them tried as adults on charges of kidnapping (which carries a potential life sentence), battery, and witness tampering (for threatening to attack her again if she reported the crime). Their parents are complaining that they cannot afford the bail.

If they were responsible parents, they wouldn’t bail them out. These girls need, more than anything, a taste of reality.

The parents of the girls are blaming their ‘precious’ daughters behaviour on YouTube, Myspace and, wait for this, the victim! They claim the victim brought it upon herself, because she made some comments on Myspace. UNBELIEVABLE!

These girls did what they did because they wanted to do it, and because they thought they wouldn’t get into serious trouble for it. Why do we always try to blame people’s bad behaviour (understatement) on anything except the perpetrators of these atrocities?

A Real Friend

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-22 - 23:30:24

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself
and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your
'beer/Pepsi drawer' with her foot!

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend shoulder is soggy from your tears..

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first
names.
A real friend has their phone numbers
in his/her address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your
party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and
stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after
they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to
call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your
problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic
history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it!

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when
you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for
them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

Playing Outside

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-20 - 03:15:13

The Government are attempting to encourage parents to allow their young children to play outside without supervision. They argue that a child playing outside increases their social skills and increases their ability to deal with tricky situations. They usually back this up with talk about when they were children and how they stayed out all day from the age of 2 and no harm ever came to them.

We all agree on the benefits of children playing outside but he times they are talking about is usually pre decimalisation. Society and our way of life have changed dramatically since then.

*Question; Why is it illegal to leave a child under 14 in their home unsupervised but is legal to allow a child under 14 to be unsupervised on the streets?

An example of modern times.

I live in a fairly quiet street; the local school is within spitting distance reached via public footpath through the school playing fields.

2 young boys aged 9 and 11 who live in this street wanted to play on their new bikes. Their father said they could ‘play outside’ but only as far as the playing fields.

Within 10 minutes the eldest son rang his father from his mobile in an obvious state of distress saying a group of teenagers had attacked them, throwing sticks at them and threw their bikes into the muddy stream.

He immediately went to them, less than 30 seconds it took. There were about 9 lads and 1 girl aged about 15 standing slightly away from the stream where his 2 lads were pushing their bikes up the river bank towards the path. The group were quiet although one of them said ‘top of the morning to you sir’. Fuck off wanker’ was his reply.

The father wanted to go over the group to ‘remonstrate’ with them but his first concerns were for his sons, they were upset enough without further violence.

Pushing the muddy bikes back home, the youngest asked why they had done that, ‘they said lets have some fun’, replied the eldest, ‘I hate teenagers and I will never be like that when I am one’. He also admitted embarrassedly that he cried when they threw the bike in.

That was the start of the Easter holidays. The boys did not want to go out after that.

Naomi ranting, spitting, Cambell

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-03 - 23:13:11

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 after an argument over her baggage. She is alleged to have spat at the officer over a dispute with airline staff over her luggage. Apparently she thinks that the rules do not apply to her and (apparently) tried to take too many bags with her into the cabin.

This is no the first time that this woman has caused problems at Heathrow or other airports for that matter.

In September she was seen swearing at airline staff in front of dozens of passengers after being told she could not board her flight to New York because she arrived just 11 minutes before take-off.

She also lost her temper in Bogota airport in Columbia in 2005 after bags containing her designer dresses and shoes were mistakenly sent to Houston (Texas). She had just flown in from New York and threatened to get on the next flight out of the country if the problem was not sorted out. Ooh such a threat, they must have been devastated she wanted to leave!

She is very tall, skinny, walks up and down a plank wearing clothes normal people would not be seen dead in, for which she gets paid vast amounts of money. Most women would love would to be able to do that, hey, for that much money I would wear a dress and walk up and down!

Because of this ‘important’ job, she thinks she is better than the hoi pol•loi thus rules for her do not apply and can be rude and violent. After all what are we going to? Just put her on the front pages and tut. Excuse me while I throw up!>:-(

April 4, 1968 — Martin Luther King assassinated

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-03 - 21:56:38

The FBI considered King "the most dangerous Negro leader in the country,” so much so that Then-U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy authorized the wiretapping of King's home and offices in a campaign to ferret out communists. The secret recording campaign failed to prove that King was a communist, but it did provide evidence of the civil rights leader's extramarital affairs.

William C. Sullivan, head of domestic intelligence under Hoover, told a congressional committee that King was subjected to the same tactics used against Soviet agents and, "No holds were barred."

His so called assassin, Ray, was befriended by a mysterious man named Raoul before the murder and, perhaps most strange of all, two of the few black police officers and fire-fighters in Memphis were reassigned from their usual duties near the Lorraine Hotel on the day King was shot there.

Even if you except Ray did pull off an Illinois bank robbery in the months before the murder, his movements after the assassination of getting to Canada, then to England, (where he was caught and extradited) seem beyond what one would expect of a small-time criminal.

Ray at first confessed, then attempted to withdraw the confession and denied firing the murder shot to the end. His denials were later accepted by King's heirs and even former aides like Andrew Young.

Much of this is circumstantial.

Yet just as the twin assassinations of King and RFK marked 1968, five years earlier the Birmingham church bombing, resulting in the deaths of four little girls was followed two months later by the John F. Kennedy assassination.

"If they'll kill a president, I won't live to be 40," King predicted all too accurately.

Four decades after the assignation of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, so many still ask the question: What if he had lived?

Were King alive today, the preacher in him would have continued speaking out against injustice, poverty, hunger, against violence, against war.

Were King alive today he would likely not have run for president. And probably would have endured more harassment from J. Edgar Hoover.

In the months before his death, King was speaking out against the growing U.S. involvement in Vietnam and was working with other civil rights leaders on a Poor People's Campaign, with a march on Washington scheduled for that May. He was in Memphis that spring day to support striking sanitation workers

Were King alive today, he would most certainly, in my opinion, be speaking out against the Iraq War.

"God didn't call America to engage in a senseless, unjust war," King said of the fighting in Vietnam "And we are criminals in that war. We've committed more war crimes almost than any nation in the world, and I'm going to continue to say it."

Were King alive today would the FBI still considered King "the most dangerous Negro leader in the country,"

How far did they go to stop him?

Manners

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-03 - 20:55:15

I saw this Email on a school site. I hope they do not mind me using it. It is from an American about manners in London. In the past Britain has always been known for good manners and politeness. It is a shame that we are so ANGRY and rude today.

"I had the great pleasure of recently visiting your country and am dumbfounded by a curious custom I noticed while there. I always said 'please', 'thank you' and I waited my turn. I tried to be very careful when browsing in shops. However, I found that service staff would be quite blunt and I got yelled at on one occasion for looking in a restricted area that was not posted as restricted. This bluntess was quite common. While in England, I was ignored when asking a question, insulted, waws cut in front of while in queues, and otherwise treated in a manner that seemed quite hurtful for me. This is a vast difference than the Southwest US where I am from. People where I am from are very unlikely to yell at a customer even if s/he makes a mistake. Service 'with a smile', even when the customer is wrong, is the norm. "

"I think my worst experiences were in Camden and in the Train Stations. "

New Union Flag

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-03 - 01:09:58

I was reading up on how the Union flag of Britain was formed (I am such a trainspotter) and never realised that Wales is not represented on the flag! This is apparently because when the first Union Flag was created in 1606, Wales was already united with England from the 13th century.

This meant that Wales a Principality instead of a Kingdom and as such could not be included. In 1536, under Henry VIII, the Act of Union joined England and Wales officially.

However, Wales has never been conquered not by the Romans and certainly not the English or anyone. Partial invasion took place but possession was never completed because of the geography and terrain, this allowed the native population an ideal base to operate a very effective resistance. Thus there has always been a ’Free Wales’ in some part. A good reference for this is ’Land of my Fathers’ by Gwynfor Evans.

Wales being a principality may be have been acceptable in the 13th century but surely today Wales is accepted as a country within Britain. As such I think it is about time Wales was added to the Union Flag.
What do you think of the following NEW Union flag?

April fools gags

by kaimi0achava @ 2008-04-03 - 00:15:54

April Fools day gags. So many are below par but I managed to find a few that were amusing.

Here we go, in no particular order;

1. Tattoo Your Toddler is "the world's first tattoo studio designed specifically for kids." A complete website was created just for yesterday.

baby tatoo 2007-04-02_155443

2. This was an email received informing us that the government - along with greenpeace - have found a way to cut carbon emissions equivalent to 153,000 aeroplanes. All you do is if everybody holds their breath for 20 seconds beginning at 11am, then less Co2 will be breathed out. I like this because it had a certain logic to it.

3. Google Book Search now supports reproducing the smell of scratch-and-sniff based books. “Using special equipment and tricky JavaScript, we’re now able to capture some of the smells during the scanning process and then embed them in your web browser when you preview these titles in Google Book Search,” their blog says, pointing to several examples.

4. The German Google Watch Blog announced they’ll be shutting down to launch a competitor to Google Street View for Germany. Image samples from Berlin and other locations are provided in the post. Called CityMap, the service has a nice feature of overlaying people’s faces with smileys to better protect their privacy.

5. WikiAnswers was answering a series of ridiculous questions today, like "Why Did The Chicken Cross the Road?

6. If not the best April Fool’s Gag this must have had the most work put into it: IGN.com with the Legend of Zelda Movie Trailer. I would pay to see the film.

7. Last but not least. If this is not an April Fools gag then it should be. It must win an award for the most stupid at least.
